Since June 2022, the agricultural field – in the heart of CTL3 – has been hosting a research project on the landscape carried out by the artist Edoardo Tresoldi: a wire mesh sculpture whose process of absorption by nature will be the subject of observation in the years to come.
The artwork opens to further reflections on the evolution of the landscape elements, between human gestures and natural re-appropriation. In fact, the closed perimeter of the sculpture hosts a portion of land in which vegetation and fauna can grow spontaneously and the transparency of the wire mesh will allow an open dialogue with the natural phenomena of the place.
Over the time I have carried out a research on the observation of nature that reclaims abandoned buildings; I observed the Lombard small rural architectures as they die, decompose and disappear, proudly and uniquely becoming shrubs. The work represents a further step in this investigation on the territory: it is an experiment made of time; an architectural gesture intentionally abandoned so that nature redefines its identity and essence. – Tresoldi.
Before being hosted in Carnate, the sculpture was displayed in several places: it was created in 2016 and presented at Ex Dogana in Rome, then it was exhibited in 2017 at Islamic Arts Festival of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and in 2018 at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan. A nomadic object that carries Tresoldi’s cultural heritage and returns to the artist’s landscape of origin where it will continue its life cycle.
At the same time, the intervention is linked to the scientific projects of P.A.N.E. – Parco Agricolo Nord Est, which is aimed at enriching biodiversity through the creation of uncultivated lands returned to nature.
Dal giugno 2022 il campo agricolo – nel cuore del CTL3 – ospita un progetto di ricerca sul paesaggio dell’artista Edoardo Tresoldi: una scultura in rete metallica il cui processo di assorbimento da parte della natura sarà oggetto di osservazione negli anni a venire.
L’opera apre a riflessioni sul tema dell’evoluzione degli elementi del paesaggio, tra gesti umani e riappropriazione naturale. Il perimetro chiuso della scultura custodisce infatti una porzione di terra in cui vegetazione e fauna potranno svilupparsi spontaneamente e la trasparenza della rete metallica renderà possibile un dialogo aperto con i fenomeni naturali del luogo.
Nel tempo ho portato avanti una ricerca fatta di osservazione della natura che si riappropria delle costruzioni abbandonate; ho osservato i cascinotti lombardi mentre muoiono, si decompongono e spariscono diventando orgogliosamente e unicamente degli arbusti. L’opera rappresenta un ulteriore passo di questa indagine sul territorio: è un esperimento fatto di tempo; un gesto architettonico volutamente abbandonato affinché la natura ne ridefinisca l’identità e l’essenza. – Tresoldi.
Prima di essere ospitata a Carnate la scultura ha conosciuto diversi luoghi: realizzata nel 2016 e installata all’Ex Dogana di Roma, è stata esposta nel 2017 all’Islamic Arts Festival di Sharjah negli Emirati Arabi e nel 2018 al Museo della Scienza e della Tecnologia di Milano. Un oggetto nomade che porta con sé il retaggio culturale di Tresoldi e fa ritorno nel paesaggio di origine dell’artista dove continuerà il suo ciclo di vita.
Al contempo l’intervento si collega ai progetti scientifici del P.A.N.E. – Parco Agricolo Nord Est, orientati all’arricchimento della biodiversità attraverso la creazione di terreni incolti restituiti alla natura.
